I. Introduction to the Department of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence

Established in 2020, the Department of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence upholds the university's motto "Bright Virtue, Far-reaching Transportation" and promotes the educational tradition of "Willing to be a Stepping Stone, Never Stop Progressing." The department is based in the western region and serves the entire country, aiming to develop a top-tier discipline and cultivate top-tier talents. It aims to train innovative talents who meet the needs of the new engineering disciplines, are well-rounded in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor, and have a comprehensive grasp of the theories and technologies of big data and artificial intelligence, as well as an international perspective and competitiveness. The department has two undergraduate programs: Data Science and Big Data Technology, and Artificial Intelligence, both of which were approved by the Ministry of Education for enrollment in 2020.

The faculty currently consists of 16 members, including 3 professors, 4 associate professors, 1 Chongqing New Era Good Teacher, and 1 Chongqing Course Ideology Teaching Master. There are 4 teaching teams: Big Data Fundamentals, Big Data Analysis and Application, Artificial Intelligence Fundamentals, and Artificial Intelligence Applications. The department has a first-level academic master's program in Computer Science and Technology and a professional master's program in Electronic Information. It has also established the "iFlytek Experimental Class" for top talent cultivation.
