In order to better promote the application of the National Natural Science Foundation of China in 2025, the School of Information Science and Engineering held the 2024 National Natural Science Foundation of China project summary and 2025 application kick-off meeting on September 29. Professor Liao Xiaofeng, Distinguished Professor of the School of Information, Professor Yang Jianxi, Dean of the School of Information, teachers who applied for the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and staff from the office of the School attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by President Yang Jianxi.
At the meeting, Professor Chen Lili, assistant to the dean, informed the school of the spirit of the 2024 National Natural Science Foundation of China project summary meeting and the 2025 fund application kick-off meeting. On this basis, the Discipline Office of the Academy analyzed and summarized the situation of the National Natural Science Foundation of China in 2024 in terms of application organization, faculty participation and funding project.
During the discussion and exchange, Mr. Xia Dong and Mr. Tian Peng, the winners of the 2024 National Natural Science Foundation of China, respectively exchanged their experience in fund application. Other young teachers who plan to apply for the 2025 National Natural Science Foundation of China analyzed and summarized the writing of the application form and the opinions of the experts' correspondence review, and introduced the concept of individual application.
Dean Yang Jianxi made an in-depth analysis of the college's 2024 national foundation declaration and project establishment results, pointed out the gains and losses of the college in the fund application organization work, and made detailed arrangements for the fund application organization work in 2025. Since Professor Liao Xiaofeng was hired as a distinguished professor in 2023, he has done a lot of guidance on the application of the school fund. During the meeting, Professor Liao Xiaofeng analyzed and discussed with the young teachers one by one based on the scientific research achievements, the quality of the application form and the experts' letter review opinions, and guided the young teachers to apply for the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
The convening of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) project summary and kick-off meeting is the beginning of the School of Information to promote the application of the National Natural Science Foundation in 2025, and more flexible and efficient work will be carried out in the follow-up to pragmatically promote the application of the National Natural Science Foundation of China in 2025.
